I use The Chicago Manual of Style (17th ed.), which is considered the industry standard in US book publishing.

Project cost is based on the type of editing requested, manuscript condition, and word count.

Depending on my schedule, I am able to accept some rush jobs for an additional fee. 

I send invoices via QuickBooks. Payment terms will be detailed in the contract.

Deliverables vary by editing service. All clients will receive a marked-up manuscript. Edits and comments are made using MS Word's Track Changes feature, so you can accept or disregard any of my suggestions as you see fit. Copyediting clients will also receive a style sheet and editorial letter.

A style sheet helps maintain consistency throughout the manuscript (and any future books in a series) by tracking preferences for formatting, style, and spelling.

Editors are humans, and humans are not perfect. But I strive to edit all manuscripts to the highest standard.
